Aww you sound drugged up! :( Tell your nurses if you are having problems, but I dry heaved for about 24 hours. It went away though. Good luck~

Most of the heavy stuff is out of my system now but I am now having more pain than I did yesterday. When I sit too long and stand up it hurts and when I stand up too long and sit or lay it hurts too. My buttocks also hurts cuz I am on it most of the time in here and its too tender for me to roll over on my side.

That sounds like the gas pain- it will take a couple days to dissapate, but it will be gone soon. Hang in there!

Blacking out when you stand up is probably about your blood pressure. Try to ease up rather than just stand up. Take a few minutes with your feet down, sitting on the edge of the bed before you stand up. And sit right back down if your vision starts to darken or you get too light headed.

Tell your nurse what's happening. They can only help if they know what's wrong.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Knowing the surgery is over is a huge sigh of relief, is it not?  I was discharged yesterday and mentioned to my surgeon that I'm not nauseated, but the minute I try to drink something, other than water, I would dry heave. He assured me that that is normal for some. It is simply because our body's are trying to adjust to something new, but it will be no time for that to clear up. Good luck!!

They can give you meds for the dry heaving! In my case, it turned out to be the morphine that caused it- so perhaps see if switching the pain killer might help also. Just keep communicating what is happening to the staff there and they will help you through shaking off the anasthesia.
