Just hit the 50 lbs lost mark!

Hi all- just checking in for my first official Scale Victory.  Today is exactly 2 months post op and I am down 50.4 pounds!  (Including the 15 pre-op).  I lost 25 in month 1 and only 10 in month 2 so this month has felt like it took forever to get to 50 lbs lost.  But in the big picture....I am on the right track and starting to feel pretty good.  Occasionally I still want a big ole bowl of something....nothing specific...just a big ole bowl.  I realize that is something other than hunger (which I don't feel).  Maybe it's habit, maybe it's just old celebration/grieving rituals....but whatever it is....it only happens occasionally and I just let it float by.  Here is an interesting phenomena.  I cannot remember the taste of things.  What I mean is pre-surgery if someone mentioned a food...I could immediately conjure the taste of it.  Now...I don't remember the taste (I feel like Frodo, " I can't remember the Shire, Sam."). I had never heard of this and maybe it won't stay ....but right now it feels like a blessing. Thanks for listening.  Wild Woman.

Congratulations! Fifty pounds in 2 to 2-1/2 months? Yeah, when did that ever happen before? :) Totally celebratory.

Not remembering the taste of foods sounds like a dream to me, because that's the biggest part of when I slip up. Invariably, the thing I desperately wanted was no where near as good as I remembered it being. My nutritionist said a massive part of our enjoyment of flavors is remembering the last time we enjoyed that flavor. So if you don't remember it, I'd say you're totally in remission! (aside from the fleeting wants to eat lots of *something*, let's hope that is the next thing you forget :))

High Weight 376, about a year before program. I gave up diet pop(and all pop), dropped 30 pounds without trying, and kept it off. Now convinced Carbonated Beverages. Are. Evil.

Congratulations on the 50 pounds lost.  That' a big landmark in the weight loss process.

I haven't heard of people forgetting the tastes of foods.  But the surgery does change a lot of factors.

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations!!  On the 50 lost as well as forgetting what certain things taste like. Maybe I'm strange, but I wish I would forget what all of my past favorite foods taste like.  And that "big ol bowl" sounds delicious!!  Keep up the great work!!
