Hello from a newbie!
Hi everyone,
I have officially joined OH after lurking for a few months. I have enjoyed reading the VSG forum, and have picked up many tips and tricks along the way that have been enormously helpful. I hope that by joining and becoming more engaged in the discussion, I can receive (and hopefully give) even more support.
I am a 45 year old married mother of two, and a nurse practitioner. My journey started last fall when the scale hit 227 (I am 5'5") and I developed both hypertension and sleep apnea. I became afraid for my health, and afraid of the prospect of spending the rest of my life obese - just like my mother, my grandmother, and my great-grandmother before me.
I had VSG two weeks ago tomorrow by Dr. Andras Sandor, in Medford, MA. So far I am feeling pretty good most days, and have not struggled much with pain or nausea after the first 3 days at home. Boy, I am sure looking forward to meeting with my nutritionist tomorrow, though. I am SICK of protein shakes!
So thanks for being here, and I look forward to "meeting" you all through this forum.
Congratulations on your decision to move forward with a healthy lifestyle ! Your positive outlook will be an advantage !
