Life is Good!
Today marks three months since my surgery on December 18th. I lost about 35 lbs pre-op, and another 55 since. I still have about 70 lbs to go.
Last year I went to Chicago and wanted to do a million different things, but I ended up sitting all day, watching the world go by because walking was so painful. This year I walked around most of the day, through parks, museums and just window shopping.
I just love haunting the local Goodwill stores finding ever smaller clothes. I am doing water aerobics, yoga, weight training, going to dog obedience classes, enjoying shopping (walking) again. When it gets warmer, I'm planning to start hiking again, and I'm really looking forward to that.
I'm wearing jewelry and nail polish again. My friend remarked on this, and I realized that I never wanted anyone to see me before. Now I want to draw attention to myself as I'm no longer ashamed.
I'm loving life more and more every day. I'm so thankful, first, that I have a wonderful therapist that has helped me (and will in the future) recognize how I use food inappropriately. Secondly, I am thankful that I made the decision to give myself the gift of this wonderful tool. Thirdly, I'm thankful for this community, from whom I've learned so much.
