Vitamin List - please share yours

I have never had a recommended daily vitamin list for VSG - my doc gave me the one for RNY.  Can someone share a recent recommendation list?  Thanks.

My program requires VSG patients take the following:

2 multi vites the 1st year. 1 per day thereafter, if labs permit.

Vitamin D3 (2000-4000 IU per day)

1500 mg Calcium Citrate

B12 sublingual - minimum 3000 mcg per week.

B1 100 mg per day for the first year - then, if labs indicate, stopping or reducing.

Iron every other day for the 1st 3 months - then it's dependent on labs

MY PCP also prefers that I add a vitamin E and Omega 3s to the VSG regimen, so I do.

Hope that helps!

EDIT: Yes, this is a current list (not my list from 4 years ago).

Please keep in mind that my list is based on MY lab results.  Depending on where you fall into each range, your needs may vary.

Multivitamin (Celebrate chewable in Grape) - 2 per day

Calcium Citrate (Bariatric Advantage 500mg in Caramel) - 3 per day

Sublingual B12 (Kirkland 5000 mcg) - 3-4 times per week

B1 Thiamine (100 mg) - 3 times per week

B3 Niacin (100 mg) - 3 times per week

D3 (5000 IU) - 3 times per week

Many people take an iron supplement, but my levels are so high that I don't require it.

You should have your lab work done to see where you are now.

Does your WLS office do your labs? or do you get them done w/another dr.?  I'm 5 weeks post op and I haven't had anyone do my vitamin labs?

My bariatric center takes care of mine during my post op visits.  You did blood work before surgery and will probably do them again for your 3 months mark.  I am 4 years out now and my endocrinologist does them as the bariatric is quite a distance from me and they only take care of me for 5 years.  Look at the material your surgeon gave you.  It is probably outlined in there.

--2000 iU D3 supplement 1x per day

--at least 65 mg iron per day (I use Perfect Iron)

--1 folic acid tab per day

--sublingual B12 2x/week

Thanks everyone.  My center did my labs for the first two years and for the last two years my endo has done then using my center's lists.  I am about to have them done again and just wanted to check on what vitamins are recommended now since so few in Toronto have VSG approved and done and I can't get my hands on a VSG list.  I don't take any B supplements although I take iron daily as my stores were low last time. I did do B12 injections once a month for the first year but then stopped, I can't remember why. I do take vit D, a multi, calcium citrate and Omega 369.  It sounds like except for B vites I am OK.  We will see what the tests show. Thanks again.

Multi vitamin that includes iron twice a day. I use a patch though, and can use that just once per day and keep my labs good.

Calcium citrate

D3

Usually b12 for folks, but I am alway high in that one.
