Yesterday I weighed in and I'm down 50 lbs since Dec 2. Really happy about it. The weight loss is slowing down ,but now I can see changes in how I look when I've only lost a couple of pounds. Feeling a lot more energy lately. The first few weeks ( about 6 ) I felt run down, but it's been so worth it.

Good mile marker on your journey.  #50 was when people started noticing that I might be losing.

Thats awesome.  When I lost 50lbs it finally felt like something was working and I was seeing my arms get thinner and others could see it.

Congratulations! Have you gotten on the 'what size do I wear now' mental merry-go-round?

In the past year(pre-op) I've taken off a chunk, and the clothing mind-games have begun. I have no concept of what size I am. Apparently my old definition of whether or not clothes fit me was whether or not I could put them on my body without bursting a seam when I bent over. You can hang clothing that's far too big on you and never burst a seam... so my definition of 'it fits' is broken.  I keep ordering clothes that I think I'll be able to fit into in a couple months... and they fit now.

It's very strange, and every.single.time. I think like this...

They must have sized this wrong.

They must make their clothes big there.

These clothes must be really really stretchy.

Clothes that I used to wear and now feel too big? I must have stretched this out! Maybe I should put it in the dryer...

(These are good problems to have, but they're still brain breaky!)

I'm going through that right now. I had just bought a pair of pants and thought I'd try on the next size smaller to see how far I had to go to get into them, they fit! I've been thinning out my closet too. When I put something on my Husband says nope that's way too big to wear. It's a great thing ,but weird.

Congratulations on your success.  50 pounds in about 3 months is excellent.  Its wonderful that your energy is better, too. Good job.

Pat yourself on the back.  You deserve it for a job well done

Many people forget that they've just had major surgery and expect to bounce back without any side effects.  I didn't have any complications from surgery, but my energy level, like yours, took some time to build up.

The best thing we can do for ourselves is stay on plan, let our bodies heal and enjoy the changes that weight loss brings.
