4 days out, loving life
Day four, life is good. Pain, minimal. Incisions are healing nicely, some bruising around the largest, where I suspect they pulled the stomach out. Dr. Richards said I had one of the largest stomachs she has ever seen. May be why I can tolerate my 4 ounces so well.
Big surprise this morning was my blood sugars. 132 and I went to sleep last night before doing my Lantus. They got as high as 212 in the hospital.
Food today has been a lemon creme lite yogurt and my chewable vitamins. Lunch, potato soup made with 4 oz of beef bullion, 1 tsp butter, about 1/8 c of 1% milk and 4 spoons of instant garlic potatoes. So good. Dinner will be ... possibly some jello and my protein drink. Water is hard. But I keep trying. Just had a sf hot chocolate. sooooo good.
Speaking of sleep, last night was my first night in my bed. I fell asleep during the second set of commercials of 48 hours (6:30??) Didn't wake up until 4 when my bladder woke me up. Promptly went back to sleep until 8:30. I haven't slept that long in one stretch in YEARS.
My weight at the hospital was 324. I will be weighing once a week on Wednesday's. Should have had measurements taken while my sister was here but didn't. With that BigOlStomach gone, there is a difference in the way my shirts lay.
Life is good. Very Good.
