What are you drinking?

I'm almost 5 months post-op and doing well - I'm down nearly 80 pounds and 25 away from goal.  I don't have a problem with any of the food I eat, but it's a struggle to get all my liquids in every day.  I used to drink Diet Coke, but I obviously don't drink that any longer and nothing else that I've tried has been satisfying to me.  I find water so boring!  What have you found satisfying to drink that's within our post-op guidelines?

it doesn't really have to. Be satisfying or non boring. Your body just has to have the liquid. You just need to drink all the time. Period.

I have a problem with plain water.....makes me nauseous. So I drink Crystal light, herbal teas (especially lemon zinger), chicken broth, decaf or reg coffee (but no more than 2/day) or iced coffee made with 1 cup of unsweetened cashew milk (be sure to count for the calories) with lots of ice & water mixed with lemon juice & equal.

Just keep trying different thing & you'll find the ones that work for you!

Try adding a little flavor to your water. I love drinking mine with a splash of fresh lemon and lime in it. Cucumber water is also good and very refreshing. Try buying some flavored water, like vitamin water zero, they have a lot of yummy flavors.

Oh my, I'm going to go make myself a tall glass of cucumber water right now. Thanks for the reminder!

I LOVE cucumber water. Its so refreshing! We can flavor our water with just about anything. I really like mint and raspberries, lemons and limes, oranges and strawberries, oranges and kiwi.

I'm at the end of my liquid pre-op diet phase but I found that the Crush flavored packets from WalMart were really tasty...I only used half a packet per 16oz. of water. They have no sugar, no carbs. They are real good if water bores you all day long. Hope this helps.

I a lemon nut.  I cut a 1/2 one in the morning and give it a gentle squeeze into my 28oz blender bottle.  I then fit it up several times a day and just keep squeezing it when I fill it.  It will last a whole day at the office and keep my water lemony fresh.
