Update!!

Congratulations on being on the other side! Bruising was huge for me, my stomach looked like it went 10 rounds in the ring with Rocky after surgery, but I am also ginger so I am insanely pale so any bruise stands out tremendously. Weighting; I didn't weight myself when I got home from surgery because I wasn't concerned about how much I gained in fluid weight at the hospital they weighed me an hour before surgery and I knew that number which is all that mattered. But I weighed myself a week after surgery and I do hop on the scale from time to time outside of my weigh day, which is Thursday, mostly just because the excitement has not worn off from seeing the number pretty consistently change in the right direction.
But don't get too obsessed with the scale, I was for awhile, it can become an unhealthy obsession and can start to stress you out if you see it go up which can happen but then you wake up on weigh day and you're suddenly 6lbs lighter than you were the day before. It makes sense to keep your weigh day (so for you that will be Monday apparently) the same because you want week by week numbers not 6 days numbers and then 9 day numbers etc.
Also if you didn't before surgery I'd encourage you to get a measuring tape and take inch measurements (there's a place on OH you can input them or you can write them down in a notebook) because there might be weeks where you are stalling or where you lose like half a pound so knowing your inches lost can help because the scale isn't the only indicator of weight lost.
Also pay attention to how clothing fits because more than outward changes you can see how your clothes fit is a huge indicator of weight lost. Take lots of pictures even if you hate pictures of yourself. Take full length ones if you can, take close up face shots, no one has to see them but you unless you want them to. It takes a long time for your brain to catch up with your body and taking pictures so you can compare side by side is a great way to keep focused and not get discouraged.
I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well. Congratulations. I gained 10 pounds from the IV fluids they put in me, but the water weight dropped off over the first week, and I saw real weight loss soon after the surgery. So weigh yourself whenever you'd like, just be prepared that any initial weight gain is probably water from the iv's.
best wishes,
Carol

Woohoo!! Glad you are doing so great!!
I waited one week to weigh myself.. and I always weigh myself the same day of the week at the same time of day. I was very very very bruised!! All four of my tiny itty bitty marks looked HUGE because they were dark purple. I was scared at first thought I bust blood vessels and had bleeding or something. When I went to my 2 week appointment for work release, the doctor said.. oh your bruises look good. I kind of laughed and said really? because I think they look like I'm bleeding on the inside. He said nope, they are healing nicely. It took a good while for the bruises to go away, and even longer for the scare tissue to soften. I always thought there was something wrong. LOL.
Best Wishes Always!!!
Hi. I had my surgery on Wednesday!! I have bruising around the larger incision. I believe that is the one where they pull the excess stomach out the body.
