How much time did you take off work?
I was back to work a week after surgery, and physically I would have been fine to go back by the third day. I would have taken more time off if given the opportunity, but I work on commission, so if I don't work, I don't pay my bills.
I took off about a week but could have gone back like 4 days later. I was off painkillers by Day 2, and no issues with tolerating food or getting in my water. Not bad at all!

I had 6 days off. I had surgery on a Tuesday and back to work on Monday. I am a retail manager so I am on my feet 9+ hours a day. It was doable. But I did get really tired for the first week or two.

I wanted to relax and recuperate so I took 6 weeks off. Glad I did. I planned my meals and got into a routine.
I was back at my office job 7 days exactly after surgery. No issues other than very odd meals for many months.
Surgery and recovery time were minor factors in the journey. Reversing decades of obesity is the real long term challenge!

I had surgery last Thursday. Was out of the OR at 5 pm. Had planned to go back on Monday but wasn't feeling up to it. Ended up going in on Tuesday and only made it 4 hours. So am taking today off. Plan to work a full day tomorrow. Reason I am pushing it so hard it that it is my own business and it is hard to be off. Sure I will be tired for a few weeks yet. Great most of you get to take more time off.
