Why the insulting reply to Geek? She only pointed out the truth - anyone who is obese enough to qualify for surgery has a problem with food. We wouldn't be obese if we didn't.

If you can't follow your preop plan, you're in for a world of hurt. Aside from addressing mental/emotional stuff, you can cause very serious injury by eating off-plan while your body is still healing. I've heard at least a few stories about folks who thought the post-op food plan was "too hard" and skipped straight ahead to table food, and often things that are off-limits for quite a while. They ripped open their sleeves and suffered life-threatening consequences.
This is more than a "get your head in the game" situation. You could DIE.
