Who is on this forum, anyway?
The only difference between sleeve and RNY eating is that some people with RNY get sick if we eat sugar. Other than that the rules are the same. With the sleeve you retain a valve at the end of your stomach that keeps food in the pouch. With RNY that valve is gone and sugar can "dump" out of our pouch and into the intestines causing a lot of pain when it happens.
The types of food eaten, rule of no water for 30 minutes after eating and average weight lost are pretty much the same.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
WLS is 10% physical and 90% mental (in my opinion at 5 yrs out). RNY patients have a lot of support, advice and wisdom to share about that 90% we all share.

Before we RNYers can post on the VSG board we have to take a class and a couple of tests. Then we're under supervision for the first 60 days, where all of our posts have to be approved. It's quite a vetting process.

The RNY was a much more common procedure than the VSG, so many of the long term vets (who have more experience and advice) have had the RNY. That is not to say that people like Grim, who had the RNY isn't a fount of information, wisdom and humor. And White Dove always has great advice that is applicable to anyone who's had WLS.
Plus the VSG forum is extremely active. These RNYers come for the action
