Day 1 Clear Liquid Pre op
Day 1 of my pre op diet. Had my protein drink, two cups of tea (herbal), 2 waters, and now working on a sf lemon jello tea. I weighed myself two days ago and 335 popped up on the scale. A big surprise as I expected 350+. Now I want to go take a nap as there is no caffeine pulsing through my veins.

Giving up caffeine was the hardest for me, but I gave it up about 4 weeks prior to my 2 week pre-op diet because I knew it would be easier. I used to drink two huge energy drinks a day (24 oz ones) and soda through the day. Giving those up dropped 12 lbs off my waistline though which was a huge motivator for me. The caffeine withdrawal will subside after about 4-5 days totally though you may want to keep some headache meds on hand because it will cause headaches. Drink as much fluid as you can to keep yourself hydrated and keep the headaches to a minimum and it will help. Also you can look into more natural sources of energy if you are really missing it. B12 is good, you could try zip fizz if your local stores carry it because it is low calorie (20 cals a tube) and low carb (3 carbs a tube) and they taste okay, a bit vitamin-y but they do give you energy and it is just another way to get in water. I'm wishing you all the best. :)
Today is a much better day. I slept from 2 pm to 8 am this morning. Think it was my body's way of keeping me to my liquids. I've drank alot of water, lots of bullion, lots of herbal tea. I'm confident in my success in keeping to this diet. My first trip to town is tomorrow but not too worried. I'm broke. LOL.

I started on the coffee a long time ago for the same reason. I had been doing Thrive!, a supplement program with a fair amount of caffiene, but no headaches. I admit, I am having 1 cup of weak green tea if I start getting the yawns. But so far so good!!
