I do not get over here nearly enough. I recently started exercising again realized I needed to get my booty back here to look at all the sage advice from the veterans on eating for exercise etc.

With that I thought I would share my progress. I held steady at 185 pounds for a year after surgery, then went up about 10 pounds in 2014 to 195. I stayed at that weight for another year and a half this past summer I topped out at 201 pounds. Getting back over 200 pounds really scared me.  I went through a breakup at that time which helped kick off my weight loss "rededication." (Hey use the tools you have, eh?)  So I have dropped 33 or so pounds since then bringing me to my all time low right now of 168. I want to lose about 20 more pounds.

I just joined the gym again last week. I did not lose anything this week, which is always frustrating but I know that I need to be focused on getting strong and fit rather than the scale as far as exercise is concerned and so I am trying to focus on that.

I would love to get a cute booty to go along with my weight loss.

Anyway, attaching some pics because I know how inspiring they were for me when I started my weight loss journey.  Also I did a youtube video on my youtube channel discussing my journey if anyone is interested.

Advice for an exercise beginner is also very welcome. :)

I have thankfully not felt like anyone was waiting for me to fail but I have felt some start getting annoyed that I was getting smaller than them when I had previously been much larger than them. With my personality type I almost start to feel badly about it but then I realize it's for me that I am doing this. It's not for anyone else.

Good for you. You look great. Yes you should use the tools you have. Call it motivational therapy. 8)

You are gorgeous and look fit and healthy and happy.

Congrats on work well done. It's not easy to lose more weight at 3+ years out. I know. I'm doing it, too!

Kudos to you!

Thank you, Kairk!  That is sweet of you to say. I am so thankful to still be losing - or to start losing again. I think I just got too comfortable where I was. Kudos to you as well!

Wow how cool is that?  It's been the best journey I have ever been on, but also very mentally interesting. haha

You are beautiful!  Thank you so much for posting your inspirational pictures.

I just went back to the gym today after taking many months off.  My advice to you would be to get a personal trainer for a while, to teach you how to work out properly.  He or she will give you plenty of advice on the proper way to lift weights, use the machines, and the other equipment.  The worst thing you can do at the gym is use the equipment the wrong way.  You could hurt yourself, and that would be terrible.

5' 5" tall. VSG on August 4, 2015/ Starting weight 239.9/ Surgery weight 210.9/ Current weight 137.4/ Goal weight 140/ No longer overweight, now a NORMAL weight. Now that I'm at goal, it's time to move on to maintenance!!!!!!!!
