I have been taking biotin for about 3 weeks.

Google " telegenic effevulium". Hair loss after surgery is normal,it is caused by the anesthesia. Nothing will help it or stop it. It will stop by itself.

biotin will help the new hair grow in stronger, but it also causes hair growth other places ,like the face.

I went to Sally's  beauty supply store and asked for the highest  protein shampoo and conditioner. It did wonders. I continue to use 1-2 times a week 6 years out. This was recommended by the lady who does my hair from the beginning of my of my weight loss journey. Hope it helps.

This is a reset of your hair's growth cycle, so really, there is no vitamin, protein or shampoo that will stop it. The good news is that new hairs are pushing out those old ones, so in a few months, you'll have some wonderfully healthy, new hair.  Telogen Effluvium only lasts a few months.  My recommendation is a cute haircut with layers...and highlights.  It's the perfect mood booster.

Relax and take a deep breath! Go see your hair stylist and find yourself a cute new cut! It grows back! Trust me, it does!!

"I am losing my hair."

This happens to nearly everyone. A normal after-effect of major surgery.

"What do I do?"

Nothing. It won't all fall out. You won't go bald. It will grow back, and if my case is anything to go by, it will come back thicker than it was before, I believe due to much better nutrition and supplemental vitamins/minerals.

Don't panic, this happens to most of us. It will grow back, I promise. I lost a lot of hair, and when it started growing back, it was a mess. But, after a while, it got better, once I found a great stylist. I explained what had happened, and she was able to work with it. I would not trade the full, thick hair I had before for the 85 pounds I got rid of. The hair change was a small price for my new healthier life. Hang in there, it will get better.
