I had my period for my surgery too. They gave me a pad and special mesh panties. The weird thing is that they didn't put it back on after surgery (and I didn't check). The first time they got me up to go to the bathroom, I was dripping blood all over the bathroom floor. Freaked the nurse right out as she thought I was bleeding somewhere from the surgery. Lol! She hiked my gown up so fast to check things out and then asked, are you on your menses? I said yes and they got me a pad!

Same thing happened to me.  I got up and it was running down my leg.  I was beyond embarrassed but the nurse was so nice to me.  She didn't care, just helped me get cleaned up.

No biggie! I had mine and they gave me mesh undies and a pad :-)

Yup, same for me.  No big deal.

I'm so glad you asked this question. I'm having surgery on Feb 9, and had the same concern... Thanks for the replies; feeling better about it now.
