Whenever I have surgery I get horrible nausea. What helps me, in addition to the typical nausea medication is a few doses of decadron, a steroid.

I hope you get relief soon!

I had a patch, Zofran, and Decadron pre op and my surgeon gave me another injection of the Decadron before I was discharged and I had and have continued to have absolutely no nausea. It worked fantastically!

I'm so sorry to hear you are having so much trouble.  It should get better soon.  Hang in there.  It'll all be a distant memory soon, and the weight loss will be forever!

best wishes,

Carol

How are you doing today?

Better, thank god. The nausea seems to be on its way out, finally. The pain is still pretty bad. I keep cramping. I can't really drink much, everytime I drink I cramp up. Hopefully I am done throwing up though, that was the worst :(

I'm glad the nausea seems to be under control.  I didn't experience the cramping, so not advice there.  I can tell you that I felt much better after a week and even better now, 10 days out.  So keep doing what they dr/nurses tell you, and keep the faith!

Try changing the temperature- warm fluid instead of cold. That sometimes can really help.
