Yes!  Exactly.  But it's not like arguing with someone that "No, I really am obese (or MO, or SMO)" is in any way productive :P

I get where you're coming from. I feel so much more aware of myself and my body now. How could I ignore or be so clueless before. I get 'hey skinny" from friends and coworker, but I'm STILL over weight. I guess compared to what I use to look like I am skinny to them!

It's so true - especially in this country. I just got back from a two week vacation in Europe (Poland, to be specific). I specifically waited until I lost a very significant amount of weight to go, knowing how thin everyone is over there. Yet, even though I have already lost 115 lbs. and wear an XL, I was easily usually the fattest woman anywhere I went.

Another thing I wasn't expecting was the sizing of the clothes. At the mall, all the female clothing stores had about this percentage of sizes available: 25% Extra Small, 30% Small, 30% Medium, 12% Large, 3% Extra Large. Only one store in the entire mall catered to Plus-Sizes. The same thing applied to men's clothing. My husband couldn't find many XL sizes at all.

Of course, I am all about loving yourself at any size - as long as you are healthy and happy - but it was definitely a wake-up call of how used to we have gotten to catering to larger sizes in the U.S.
