Getting Nervous!
Hi Mamba, don't be nervous! This will be the best thing you are ever doing for yourself! A new and healthier you, isn't that great? :)
I would say try to get a babysitter or get a family member to come down to watch your children because you will need your husband there as he needs to drive you home. You cannot drive by yourself after surgery. Before you go in you will want him there, and after you come out as well.

My parents and my little sister were there during and all day after my surgery and honestly, they didn't have to be. In my experience, I was taken back into preop before my my surgery to get prepped. They were only allowed back for a brief moment right before I was wheeled into surgery. After surgery, I was on pain meds and really didn't know if they were there or not.
