Getting Nervous!

It's almost here! Tuesday I go for my last Dr. consultation and pre-register for surgery. I'm getting so nervous and anxious! I'll be alone for my surgery because my husband has to be home with the kids. I think that is biggest part of my anxiety.

Hi Mamba, don't be nervous! This will be the best thing you are ever doing for yourself! A new and healthier you, isn't that great? :)

I would say try to get a babysitter or get a family member to come down to watch your children because you will need your husband there as he needs to drive you home. You cannot drive by yourself after surgery. Before you go in you will want him there, and after you come out as well.

I wish I could. I'd love for him to be there but I have no one to babysit. He'll come pick me up when I'm released but I'd love to see him before and after just for reassurance.

Sucks being alone but just make it though post op and you will be ok. After surgery I actually enjoyed a little alone time in my room as I was super tired. Good luck on your journey and new life.

My parents and my little sister were there during and all day after my surgery and honestly, they didn't have to be.  In my experience, I was taken back into preop before my my surgery to get prepped.  They were only allowed back for a brief moment right before I was wheeled into surgery.  After surgery, I was on pain meds and really didn't know if they were there or not.

I guess it would be just knowing he's there. Even if I'm too high to notice lol

Good luck to you! You're doing something great for yourself. Remember to walk as soon as you can after surgery and sip, sip, sip as soon as they give you the all clear that you can drink water!!
