Weight gain
I think the more important question is how to make sure you don't gain another 20 pounds next year, and the year after. If you decide your current weight is good for you, or if you decide you'd rather be thinner, both are reasonable choices if they make you happy.
The real issue is your ability to maintain at whatever weight you choose. Last summer I gained 6 pounds on a cruise. The 6 pounds were really ok. I looked fine and I'm a bit thin at my maintenance weight, but I decided to lose it just to prove to myself that I could. 6 pounds now is no problem, but 6 pounds per year would be disastrous. It took me a while, but I did lose it, and I feel more secure in my maintenance plan knowing I did.
Best of luck,
Carol

It depends. I got too low at one point. I wanted to gain 10-15 lbs. I did..the next 15 just followed shortly after... It was really hard to stop gaining and lose the unwanted 15 lbs. I am still working on that,..on and off.. When my weight is higher - my face show less wrinkles... My skin does not "hang very much"...

Most people have a Bounceback regain during the third year (month 25 through 36) of about 20 pounds. Will you be happy with an additional 20 pounds? My surgeon advises us to go 10, 20 or even 30 pounds under our goal weight during the honeymoon period following surgery. Then there is a cushion for Bounceback. It will probably be very difficult to lose that 20 that you gained if you do it now. It will be much more difficult later.

Well you might want to work on changing the habits that caused the regain. That s the real long term issue. I am in year 7 and in the past 6 months regained about 8 pounds. I know whats happened - less vigilance about what I eat and drink and not enough exercise. gotta get on it. Try to dial it back to healthy habits. Thats what I will try and do. Lets do it together.
