No leak test?
Hi everyone. I am 5 days post op and doing well! Just today i was able to get up to 60g of protien. Yay!!
I am concerned that my surgeon did not do a leak test before or after being discharged? Dont they always do this type of test? I asked him specifically during my stay and he told me he doesn't do them. Any thoughts?
My surgeon doesn't do follow-up leak tests either. He explained that he tests for leaks during the surgery, and there is no need to put his patients through that horrible test after the fact.

Same here. The surgeon explained that they do a test during the surgery so they don't have to do one after. So no worries! :) Congrats on getting sleeved!

My surgeon doesn't do a leak test after the surgery either, he does it during. I also didn't need to have any drains, which was wonderful.
5' 5" tall. VSG on August 4, 2015/ Starting weight 239.9/ Surgery weight 210.9/ Current weight 137.4/ Goal weight 140/ No longer overweight, now a NORMAL weight. Now that I'm at goal, it's time to move on to maintenance!!!!!!!!
Leak tests can cause unnecessary post op bleeding.
There is really no definitive quick fixes for a leak anyways and most show up several days after.
