Soy vs almond milk
Every powder will taste different when mixed with different liquids. Synthrax Nectars were great with water. My chocolate flavor was great with milk, but crappy with water.
Experiment, and use whatever appeals to you.

My vote is for the 30 calorie almond milk, vanilla unsweetened. I buy it by the case from Costco at a great price. I have in the past tried soy and flax options. There is a flax milk product out there with only 25 calories per 8 ounces, but the almond milk is worth the extra 5 calories. Soy is good too, don't get me wrong- but a lot more calories. With the soy, however, you get some protein- not the case so much with the almond.

Soy milk has a stronger flavor than almond milk. My new favorite is unsweetened cashew milk. 25 calories per cup and it is much thicker and creamier than almond milk. Cashew milk has a "milky taste" too.
I luv the unsweetened cashew milk too, but its become a real pain in the ass to find stocked on the shelves in my local store. I end up buying like 4 of them whenever it gets in. I'm thinking everyone else in my neighborhood is doing the same thing.

Figure out what you like best. I don't like adding extra soy to my diet, so I prefer the unsweetened almond milk. Just make sure to read labels so that you're not getting any added sugars.
