Hi everyone! I've been inspired to join by all your sharing of stories and encouragement for each other. I'm in the process of doing all the necessary requirements for a VSG, which hopefully will be in Feb or March. I'm 63, 5 foot 2 ( although I KNOW I used to be taller!), started at 315, weighed in at my second appointment yesterday at 310, so a little progress! Has anyone done the psych evaluation online? I was given that option... Oh and I'm in North Carolina.
I had to do the shrink, and I had worked myself up all over it being I am a private person unless I choose to be otherwise, being required to go talk to some skull jockey definitely wasn't a matter of my choosing to be. I will have to admit she was good, she knocked my resistance down and we were chatting for about an hour or so, the most tedious part was the questionnaire I had to fill out once I go there, it was well over 100 questions via a scan-tron sheet, it felt like taking SAT's in the late 80's all over again lol. Just go, get it over with and move on with it. I think online would be fine if you have the time, otherwise just go see the shrink in person and be done with it.
Welcome to the forum. I hope you find it as informative and supportive as I have.
I had my surgery at 64, and it all went very well. I'm 67 now, and I'm at a normal weight. This WLS really works!
Best wishes,
Carol
