Favorite Weight Loss Mode Meals?
I am struggling to tighten up my nutrition to maximize my weight loss. After being stuck in the 3 week stall (started a little later than 3 weeks) for awhile and finally out of it, I want to take all measures to not stumble back into one!
So...what is/was your favorite weight loss mode meal? Preferably not seafood related. What tips do you think helped your weight loss to be consistent? (Besides the obvious; stick to plan, drink water, log all foods.)
TIA!

I have a ton of favorites for weight loss. Here are a few
- Crack slaw
- Laurie's Chicken and Broccoli
- Chicken in spicy peanut sauce
- Chicken florentine
- Chicken lazone
- Atkins beef stroganoff
- many different kinds of meatballs.
- mashed cauliflower - as a side
- broccoli slaw -as a snack/side
I've posted many of these recipes on the recipe forum. And there are a lot of good ideas there as well.
best of luck with your weight loss journey,
Carol

Thanks! I have been on the forum but never quite know if the recipe I'm reading is best for weight loss or maintenance. I'll certainly be checking out your suggestions.

thanks for asking this question. I needed some help here too and trying to keep myself on target. Don't want to start slipping up.

I've been eating filet mignon a lot lately and it's going well. It's FAR less pricey when one cut lasts for multiple meals, low in fat and super tender. I've been quartering it when I buy it and then searing one small piece at a time for dinner. That with a couple of green beans or a spear of broccoli has been soooooooo goooooooooooooood.
Pulled pork tenderloin has also been yummy. I put half a tenderloin in a dutch oven with a small can of diced chiles, 1/2 a diced onion, salt, pepper and about 2 cups of water and let it slow cook for hours and then pull it.
My go-to quick meals are kept in the freezer in 2.5 oz portions. I always have something (usually too much) in the freezer so I always have something VSG friendly available.
Lately, I have focused on crock pot pork tenderloins. I do my own seasonings (chipotle was one, balsamic vinegar another, and then some sort of orange/ginger flavoring) but you can buy them pre-seasoned as well. I purposely avoid recipes that include much or any sugar and never add anything like cheese because I want to keep the calorie load low. Pork tenderloin is leaner than most beef cuts but more flavorful (to me) than chicken breasts.
I like the crock pot thing because I spend less time in kitchen which means there is less opportunity for grazing while cooking. And having them pre-portioned keeps me from having to negotiate with myself about today's portion size.

I had my surgery on 10/26/15 so I am fairly new at this and am also struggling with trying to find a food regimen and I have found myself to be more hungry this past week. What I use to eat is not "enough" anymore. Has this happened to you?
I actually get tired of meat so I have found that the morningstar brand of vegetarian food is actually quite refreshing and good. They have veggie links, black bean burger patty, veggie chicken. I find it really good and it has protein. I have also been doing soups in this cold weather and adding pieces of tofu which I love.
I have what I call "hungry days" where I feel like I can eat more than I usually do and feel I NEED to eat more than usual because I'm simply not satisfied. On these days I may allow myself an extra snack and focus more on dense protein. I also up my water intake to fill up my stomach.
My little sister is a vegetarian so I'm familiar with the Morningstar brand but never thought of eating them myself...maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks!
