Pre-op blood test?
Hello everyone! I'm having my VSG done in Mexico and my surgeon doesn't require many of the pre-op tests that the surgeons in the states or Canada do. This concerns me slightly so I'm wanting to at least have my blood work done before surgery. I'm wondering what it is exactly that I should be asking my pcp for? What do you all have tested when you get your blood taken? Sorry if I sound a bit clueless; I would appreciate any information you'd be willing to share with me. Thanks in advance!
Ditto to this. Testing for h.pylori was the first test they did for me.

I would expect that even though the requirements are different in Mexico that you will at least have an electrocardiogram and blood work. Ask your Mexican surgeon what he does and if you have have it done in the US will he accept that? You may find it is included in your surgical fee so if you have co-pays here you will be paying twice.
