Starting year seven
Hi all, today is my six year anniversary of VSG. Wish I had something profound to say but every day at normal weight is its own reward. Even though I work every day at maintaining my weight loss I have kind of come to take it for granted that I am slim and will stay this way. No more worrying about airplane seats, finding clothes that fit and that are not all crappy polyester, fitting a restaurant booth, unkind looks and remarks from others, the annual lecture from the doctor, and on and on.
Thanks to my surgeon, Dr. Cirangle, and those on this forum that went before me like Frisco, McMadame, Elina and many others who helped me do something that seemed pretty radical at the time. Now I want to run up to every fat person I see and tell them there is help.
Those of you just starting out, go for it. Recognize that it will take effort but that it can be done. I was the world's biggest sugar junky and while I enjoy a sweet on rare occasions, I can pass it up. My habits are truly changed. I can't believe I did this but its for real. I am now 64 years old and feel like a kid. I am now thinner than i was in college. size 6 pants and lots of stuff small. No more 3x. Peak weight was 247. Today I am 127. Hi Diane,,,, just wanted to say, "YOU GO GIRL!!" That is awesome!!!! I noticed you had your surgery around the age of 58?? I had mine at age 57 1/2. It will be one year in 3 weeks. You starting weight was close to mine, 240. So, I am impressed you got down to 127! Are you wanting to lose more? How tall are you? I'm 5'4''. I have people telling me I don't need to lose anymore. I'm at 243 now and want to get to 130 but I don't know if my body will let me. I am at a 7 week stall. Did this happen to you when you almost reached goal? Again, you have inspired me to keep going! Thanks for sharing your story! :)
