For those of you who add Miralax, how soon after surgery did you start using it and how much.

I've only used it when I need it, but I only use half a cap full when I do. I find that a whole cap full (recommended dose) is way too strong.

I started using it fairly soon after surgery as I got constipated almost immediately. I use 1/2 of a dose every day and if I miss a day, I start to have problems again. You might want to check with your surgeon if you want to start miralax soon after surgery, just to be safe.

I started as soon as I got home since I was in the hospital for 5 days and hadn't gone yet.

Pretty much the same as Carol. I started one week after (surgeon cleared) and use 1/2cap a day. If I miss it, I can really tellt hen it can take days to get regular again - and by days I mean a week!

Tmi....be careful. Day 5 of no movement I took a dose. Some point during my narced sleep it moved through me. Dont wear anything special and put a liner down just in case. That was a bit traumatic for me.
