Had a real New Orleans day today. Our landlord took us to hear a live NO tradition performing just a few blocks from us -- Deacon Jones. During his performance, as the guests mingled with champagne and snacks (no snacks for me!), a neighbor took issue with the loud music (this was 4pm, not 2am!). He came over with a huge German shepherd, and obviously under the influence of something, threatened to strangle the hostess! As the band kept playing and the Deacon kept singing, one of the waiters wrestled him to the ground and the police arrived to deal with him (he was down on the street by this time and obviously unable to get back up on his own). We left before the situation was resolved. Crime and high drama to the sound of classic New Orleans jazz! I LOVE this town!
