at almost 6 years out, mine makes noise regularly. I am not one bit hungry however, and haven't been since my surgery.

Pit is your new normal and you will get used to it.

I prefer to think it's purring in contentment. Usually makes noises when I've had something warm to drink or eat.

My stomach is much noisier now than it ever was before surgery. Sometimes it is obnoxiously loud!

My stomach growls more now that I had my VSG, so I don't know what they're talking about.  It growls before I eat, and after I eat.  It growls when I take my vitamins, and when I drink too much water.  Since my stomach is smaller than before I think it reacts more aggressively to food, and everything else now.

My stomach also gurgles since my VSG, and I agree that it is my new normal. Although the difference it that it gurgles after I eat...I think that it is telling me that it is very content. Before my VSG, it growled before I had eaten to tell me I was hungry. I am almost 10 months out. I love my sleeve and love it when it tells me it is content! :-) Kay

My wife and I were sleeved the same day.  Our sleeves talk to each other all the time.  It makes us laugh.  Sometimes they are so loud we don't know whose is growling the loudest.

I don't know who told you that myth but it's absolutely not true!  In fact, most people on here have lots of stories of their stomachs making all kinds of intersting noises.  Even now, if I drink too soon after a meal my tummy will make VERY loud, embarrasing noises for at least 30 minutes.

The growling could also me to excess stomach acid.  As for when it will stop, I'm 2-1/2 years out and it still happens occasionally, especially if I eat the wrong thing, too much or liquids too soon after eating.

your stomach will not only growl, it will make bizarre noises that sound like aliens.  but the good news is that the growling does not equate with hunger.   mine gets noisy after a meal, not before.   diane
