Before & After - 2 1/2 years out
I have not posted in a long time but I frequently visit. I am glad to see the posts and they encourage me to stay on track. I have gained 7 lbs and working to get it off. The vsg is a tool and I am always conscious that I must use it properly. At 2 years out I am healthy and happy. I have a new business. Our 3 year old grandson spends 8 days a month at our home. Just like all of you,I have a very busy life. It is possible to enjoy the benefits of the vsg at any stage in life. At 66 I am extremely active and I am grateful that I have the energy to do all that I need to do. I have included my before and after pictures. I consisder myself a work in progress because the obesity issues are never truly solved. I must constantly be aware of what I am doing everyday.
Wishing you all a wonderful and successful journey.
I'm so happy to read your post and see your wonderful success. You look GREAT! I'd never guess you were in your 60's!
I also had my weight loss surgery in my 60's, and I remember wondering if it was too late for me. I am so happy I had my surgery. It is never too late to become healthy.
Keep up the good work, and please keep posting. You are an inspiration to us!

Carol-
I always watch for your posts. You are a guiding light. It is important that we show others that age is not a limit. My attitude was that this was it. If I could not be successful, then make my peace with obesity. I am glad for this opportunity to regain my health.
By the way, I still take one pill a day for blood pressure. I see my internist every three months and she had a fit with my weight gain. I thought the fat lectures were gone. I was really devastated.
Anyway, I am hoping to get the extra weight off by Christmas. I will try to post more often. It helps me to be here.
Thanks-
Nancy
I gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks on my cruise this summer, and it took me months to lose it again. So I can relate to your frustration. It took me weeks to get back onto my weight loss diet, and then the weight loss was slow. But I was really determined. In my days of obesity, I gained my excess weight slowly but unrelentlessly. Gaining 6 pounds is not that terrible, but if it becomes 6 pounds a year, then I'm in trouble. That's probably why your internist was so concerned, too.
Best of luck with your weight loss. You've got this!
