SILLY QUESTION.....

I know this isn't the same for everyone, we are all different, but wondered if eggs were very hard on you after the surgery. I am 8wks out, and just had 2 (hard boil) over several days this week, got sick, but wasn't sure if it was the eggs or something else. Another sleever told me, they ate eggs all their life, but couldn't after this surgery, they developed an allergy to them. HUH? can that be true. Are there foods you have with no problem but get allergic to after this surgery???
It's pretty common for people to have problems with eggs immediately post-op. My nutritionist suggested that it's because they're too dry for lots of people. I had no problems with soft scrambled eggs or egg salad post-op.

My first solid food post op was scrambled eggs and they went down with no trouble. Hard boiled eggs are a bit dry, so you might want to devil them, or mix them with something to moisten them.
best of luck,
Carol

At a year+ out, eggs can still give me trouble. Some days they go down fine and other days it's two bites and I'm done.

I can't eat eggs. Before surgery, they had started to make me feel sick to my stomach when I ate them, but as long as I had toast or something with them, I could tolerate them. Now... if I have anything that is predominately egg, I get sick. Two bites and I feel like I'm going to vomit.
My nut said I will probably get over it and to keep trying, but I'm afraid to try. The funny thing is, though... I crave them. I have wanted nothing more than I want a a hard boiled egg since surgery. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
Eggs were tough for me right after surgery. Even now I rarely order omelets because they're too dry. I prefer my eggs poached, over medium or hard boiled. Deviled eggs are pure bliss to me
