Can't get this glue off!!

Hey everyone!!

I am almost 4 weeks post-op and I have glue all over my stomach from my surgical tape. I shower every day, but soap and water hasn't budged this glue. The doctor told me to use baby oil when I went to my 2 week visit, and I have tried that, but still nothing. I tried using baby wipes and other body soft soaps. I don't want to scrub my stomach because my incisions are still pretty bruised, but this glue from the surgical tape is so ugly... lol Anyone have any help ideas of how to remove the glue from my skin? I had to scrub my hand where my IV was and my arm where they took blood to remove the glue, but scrubbing my belly just isn't a great idea at the moment.

Away from the wounds try some alcohol wipes., not on the wounds tho, that would be ouchies

You may just have to wait until you lose enough skin flakes, and generate enough skin oil from the inside out. If your tummy is anything like mine, surgical glue isn't the worst thing that ever happened to it, LOL!

Get a box of adhesive remover wipes at a medical supply store.

I just kept the area clean and didn't try to force it off. I had glue on for a few weeks but figured it was holding things in place. :) Just keep it clean, but don't force it off - you don't want to hurt your wounds. I used a little hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball. What was worse for me was removing the pen/marker from the surgery. I had some lines and words that just wouldn't come off. I thought I was tattooed for a minute! :)

Acetone wipes it right off. Absent that, use finger nail polish remover - same stuff. Works like a charm
