I'm freezing..
I'm 3 months post op and doing pretty well. Weightloss is not as dramatic as I had hoped, but slowly but surely. Lately I have been freezing all the time! This is the complete opposite of my normal state. My fingers and toes and nose are like ice. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.
I turned freezing the day of surgery and still am almost 11 months later. My surgeon said that it isn't understood what exactly causes it but it isn't uncommon. While I have avoided buying clothing on the way down the scale, much of what I bought was purely to keep me warm.
Don't worry about dramatic weight loss....slow and surely will get the job done!

I am known for always being HOT and constantly sweaty, even when I'm wearing just a tank top, but since I started the pre-op diet, I've actually been cold for the first time in years.... My husband says it's my body reacting to losing some insulation.... I don't know. Don't be discouraged by the weight loss being slow.... At least the scale is moving down! :D
I think this is common. I bought an electric blanket for my bed, and a heavy wool vest that I wear over my turtle-neck and sweater.
I also got some silk long underwear from LL Bean. They are thin and surprisingly warm, though I only need them in the dead of winter.
when I'm alone in my car, I set the temp to 77 degrees, and that's where I'm comfortable. My hubby prefers the temp around 60 degrees, so I got a small electric blanket for just my side of the bed! hehehe We compromise with the house temp at 67 degrees, hence the many layers.
best wishes,
Carol

I feel ya. Before surgery, I thought 65° F was the perfect temp. I froze everyone else in my house year round. Right now, my thermostat is set to 70 and I'm practically wearing two sets of clothes and still freezing.
I told my husband that, if this continues, we're going to have to move back to SW Georgia (from central Indiana). Although, S Florida sounds good, too. lol
