Personal Weight Loss Goal Achieved!

I set my original weight loss goal at 135 lbs. and today I weighed in at 134.8! Made it! I revised my goal to 130 after my 6 month visit with my surgeon who would like to see me at 128-130 lbs. - he wants to me have a buffer for the inevitable re-gain that most have.

Funny thing is....I think I am skinnier then I have ever been even though the weight on the scale doesn't reflect that. My lowest adult weight was 123 lbs. but I feel my shoulders, arms and legs are smaller then they have ever been. Some could be muscle wasting, some could be the weight of the extra skin. I wonder just how much that extra skin weighs? Just bought some size 2 skinny jeans the other day - boy did that feel good! I don't think I ever wore a size 2. Of course today's size 2 is probably what a 5 or 7 was when I was in High School (early 80's).

Your excess skin probably weighs 2-5 pounds tops. Do you remember your measurements from your lowest weight? I remember mine vividly. I weigh the same as I did when I was in my 20's yet my measurements are each 1-2 inches bigger now. I FEEL thinner, but I know my stats and I am not. And vanity sizing is definitely crazy. I wear a 4 in dresses now and my favorite dress from the 80's does not fit (it's a size 9)

Yeah, I tried on my wedding dress (a size 10) and while I could get it zipped, it was pretty darn tight. My husband remembers me weighing 138 when we got married - 4 lbs. more then I am at now!

Congrats !

Very well done !

It's great that you are working with your surgeon on your goal weight.

I'm a big fan of going for a lower weight, you never know what it feels like unless you go there.

Vanity sizing has come a long way. I weighed 120 in high school in the 1960's and wore size 11/12. Now I weigh 134 and wear size 4.
