pork skins
Yep! I eat them occasionally and also use them as a bread substitute in recipes like meatloaf. So far, so good!

I have eaten them post op, however I have read many different opinions about what kind of protein they offer. It mostly seems that we do not benefit from the protein they contain. Having said that, I enjoy them so I eat them when I want a crunchy snack.

The type of proteins they have is not complete (to be used for muscles) - but they are the type that our body uses for joins, skin, hair and nails. I am OK with that...knowing that I use them as a snack.

I just started eating pork rinds, for the crunch. I'm hooked now. Mine have 0 sugar, 0 carbs and yes 9 grams of Protein. But, this is NOT a good source of protein. I'm 10 months post op and have no problems eating pork rinds. I only eat very little at one time which = 40 calories. I'll take these to the movies to have instead of popcorn. It works for.
