carb monster
Ugh! I'm really struggling with carb crazvings (the z when in there as a typo, but they are crazy cravings so I'll go with it). I don't want to lose a lot, only about 5 lbs, but I want the cravings to stop.
I think I need to cut out sugar significantly to help get the cravings to go away. I'm not sure the best way to do this.
I guess I should maybe try going back to strict food planning and stopping the bites here and there, and the kind bars and the little treats... :(
Any other suggestions?
I feel ya'! I'm on Day 5 of de-carbing right now and I had to be ruthless:
- No protein bars (a candy bar by any other name)
- Nothing with artifical sweetener in it ie. pudding, jello, popsicles, cocoa, etc.
- No treats, no tastes, no bites of any cookie/cake/dessert
As you well know, the first few days are rough - but after about the 4th day there's a sense of calm that literally comes over me and then I hardly even think about that stuff anymore.
And of course, clear your house out of all that stuff too!
Fight the good fight, Stacy!
You know what to eat, and you really just have to white knuckle it for about a week. I know, easier said than done.
Myself, I just go back to protein only for 4-6 days. All meat. You could do meat and healthy veggies if you wanted. No tastes, no sampling, no protein bars, none of that. Not even fruit. Cold turkey -- which is actually ideal. The turkey, I mean.

This. There is no easy way, but the good news is that after just a few days of pain, things get a whole lot better. So if you can get your head around that, you can curb your cravings and be at peace with your food again.
