Can't hold down any fluids

Nausea is the worst. Many people have recomended trying different temperatures as well as different fluids. I couldn't drink water for months. Also try Popsicles. If you still can't keep anything down, go to an ER for some IV hydration as dehydration makes nausea worse. Good luck. It will get better.
I'm no expert since I haven't had my VSG yet, but it seems to me they discharged you too early. I just had my lap band removed last Tuesday and the nausea was almost unbearable for the first 48 hours. And even just for the band removal, they kept me longer than it sounds like you were there. And for the VSG, the doc has already said I will be admitted for at least 2-3 nights. You HAVE to be able to keep down fluids. If you don't, thinks will get bad FAST. Dehydration is the biggest reason people get readmitted after WLS. Take the advice of the other person *****plied and go in to the ER for some fluids and IV anti-nausea meds. It's better to fix this early before it gets completely out of control.
I hope you get to feeling better soon!

I can't hold anything down. This nausea is the death of me. I was sent home with a nausea gel, zofran and proethazine. Can't hold the oral medication down. I am sipping on fluids with a shot glass. I can't even hold down a sip.. This is not good. What did I do to myself?
you need to call the office and get the answering service to have the doctor on call call you. He/she can give you a suppository to calm the nausea so you can drink.

Yes cal your Drs office or you will end up back in the hospital with dehydration. I was not allowed to eat or drink anything for 36 hrs (had IV fluids) and then was given an ice pop to suck on. Water takes time and goes in very slowly at first. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
Hope you are feeling better and keeping fluids down! I had my surgery at 9:30 am spent the night and was released around 2:00 pm the next day. They gave me apple juice in the hospital before they gave me anything else. I had to sip it slowly out of this tiny shot glass. I didn't have any problems with nausea though. They did give me dissolvables for nausea but I never used them. I hope you feel better soon! If it gets too bad go to the ER! Best Wishes!
