I'm going to attend Community College on the 25th of August (Yay 1st time college student, need to get a math class and english class in 1st before I can get to my real study) and wonder if there's something I can buy or do to keep protein shakes of any kind cool? I know about igloos, but they seem bulky.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! I might just try warm Premier Protein as the last resort. I won't be able to store anything in a car, but I'll have some downtime between the two classes I have during the evening.

I take a thermos with me to work. A good one costs anywhere from 50 to 100 bucks for a big one and it stays cold all day. Well worth the investment.

Not a bad idea. Walmart sells smaller ones in my price range (15-20 dollars). Thank you!

Make your shakes and put them into a Thermos (the kind that promise to keep things cold for 12-18 hours). Then put them in a regular insulated lunch bag to carry them with you. It's amazing!  Someone here suggested it to me, and it works very well. I spend a lot of hours traveling for work with no access to a fridge and it has kept my shakes icy cold for hours in a hot car.

Congrats on going to school, btw!

I think I'll try using my anciently old insulated lunch bag to see if it still works and thank you!

The thermos is the part that does most of the work, so definitely worth it to invest in at least one. They cost around $20, but SO worth it, because you will throw away $20 in shakes that get warm if you don't have something keeping them cool.

I'll look at the coolers more. I know I can buy those tearable tuna packets from starkist as well.

I'm going to be a full time student started on September 2nd.  Woo.  My plan is to use a small hard sided cooler.  I've also got lunch boxes for actual solid food and those will go in the cooler as well.
