My name is Leapsecond and I am a grazer.  I eat when I’m nervous and I have an anxiety issue.  So i don’t have to have much of a reason to head to the fridge.  When I graze it NEVER fills the need or desire to eat.  It is truly all in my head.  It does help to ponder in my mind as to why.  Why do I want more food when I just finished a meal less than an hour before?  Why am I nervously eating?  What is there to be nervous about?  The only fix I have found is to intentionally distract myself.  Ten minutes on the stepper, busying myself on a project, brush my teeth, listen to certain types of music or Youtube videos.  If I can distract myself long enough it helps side track my urge graze. I also try to graze on the low calorie foods. But it is still grazing.

Great post. Thanks.

great thread K and all.  Whoever solves the problem of grazing gets a Nobel Prize.  Wish I had the answer.  I know in my case, making stuff harder to get is helpful.  even moving the jar of nuts from the counter top into the pantry with closed door help.  I see it  therefore I eat it .......

For nuts, one thing I learned long before surgery was to buy them unsalted. I still love the taste, but find it easier to stop after a few.
