My insurance covered most but still owed the hospital $1200.  Made the last pmt today.  So my sleeve is all mine now and no danger of it being repossessed.

After seeing your post, I checked to see how much I still owe.  My insurance covered quite a bit, but I still owe over $2500.  It has been almost 11 month.  I'm just over halfway done paying.

I work for a really small company.  Our insurance paid for the surgery 100% after my deductible. A year later they changed our insurance and they now only pay 50%! I am the only one in the company that had the surgery so I know I caused the insurance to be changed. I am single and it would have taken me years to save up for the surgery.  I still would have had the surgery but  because it would take a lot longer until I had the money the medical problems would have damaged my body further and cost them even more money. I used to be on 13 medications and had several hospital stays every year.  Now I am on 2 medications and no hospital stays.   I know I am fortunate because many people have no insurance or insurance that won't pay for the procedure.  Why can't employers see beyond the short term?
