I got my surgery date!
So after struggling with my weight since high school I made the decision about 1 1/2 years ago to pursue WLS. I researched all the doctors and different procedures and decided on the VSG. My weight is hindering my ability to conceive children and my happiness with myself. I started my journey on Valentine's day 2015 with my WLS seminar. 3 months later, with insurance approval, I have a surgery date, July 22, 2015. I am excited, nervous, and everything in between. I am lucky to say that I have a great support system including my wonderful husband. I am ready to start this new journey in my life and see where it is going to take me.
Congratulations!! My surgery is in a couple of weeks and I have all of those emotions and then some.

Congratulations on your surgery date. I am 2 years post op, but I remember those feelings of anticipation and worry as if it was yesterday. But here I am 2 years later, and I'd do it again in a minute if I needed to. I went from 385 pounds with a BMI of 60 to 160 pounds and a BMI of 24 in 18 months. It is just amazing. You have to make a commitment to follow the program, because it is easy to defeat yourself if you don't. But if you follow the plan, you can do it. Its amazing.
best wishes,
Carol
