Blended diet - HELP!!

Okay - surgery was Friday, and everything went well (thanks to all of you for your prayers!).  I'm doing great with the liquid diet - it's hard to get all the protein in, but I'm doing my best.  I'm not looking forward to the blended diet though.  Love scrambled eggs, but other than that, I'm not too excited about the offerings.  Suggestions on what worked for you?  I'm sure there are many great options I'm just not aware of right now..... Thanks in advance!

By blended do you mean pureed? If so, i'm not going to be much help because I didn't have that phase. If I recall Eggfaces blog has some ideas for pureed (just search her site). Hopefully some other folks will come along with additional ideas.

Also... I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you so far.

I had avocado and some refried bean. About 1 Oz of each. I felt like I was partying. Also I second the eggface website. She has so much good stuff. Her Ricotta bake was a life saver for me

Stuff that I ate a lot of:

  • Greek yogurt (no chunks of fruit, make sure it's blended)
  • Sugar free pudding with protein powder added in
  • Cottage cheese
  • Cooked fish that's been mashed up well-- I got pre-seasoned frozen tilapia filets that worked great
  • Tuna salad (no pickles)
  • Strained cream soup with protein powder, I ate a lot of cream of potato

  • I enjoyed most of what has been mentioned.  I think Tilipia was one of my favorites.
  • Canned chicken makes a good soft chicken salad.
  • Refried beans with a little sharp cheddar and some salsa.

greek yogurt was great

I also strangely enjoyed just grilled chicken blended with a little spaghetti sauce to make it liquidy - sprinkled a teeny bit of parmesan cheese on top and ate about three tablespoons over 45 minutes!  It was such a nice change in flavor from the shakes and protein chicken soup it was like heaven :-)  I joked that it was "chicken parmesan"
