I have been a lurker for years, but now I have a surgery date and thought I would finally post.  My surgery date is June 23 and today I started my liquid fasting diet.  I am very motivated today, but nervous about the next 2 weeks.  I'm coming here for motivation!

Congratulations!  The 2 weeks prior to surgery are the most difficult, but after about 3 days, it gets a little easier.  I just focussed on the fact that I so wanted to have the surgery, and that I wanted to do everything I could to make is go as smoothly and safely as possible.  You'll do great!  Keep posting and let everyone know how you're doing.  For those of us who have had the surgery, we've all been there, so do understand.  Good luck!

Mary

Hi!  The first 3-4 days of the liquid diet are a miserable suck-fest.  But it gets better :D

I had heard it was more like one of Dante's levels of hell.  if it's only  "a miserable suck-fest" this gives me some hope!

I'm on day 7 and I can tell you around day 5 I stopped feeling like I was never going to make it. My advice to you is stay busy, avoid watching tv, drink tons of water, and go to bed early!  Good luck!

I am on day 20 of my liquid diet and have only 13 more to go. I'm also having surgery on the 23rd. The liquid diet does get easier, hang in there.  I keep telling myself this to shall pass. I have wanted this surgery for so long there is no way I will not do as instructed to get there.  Good Luck
