Frisco- Warning to all BBQ/Grillers !!!
I grill a lot as it is a very clean way of VSG cooking.
The other day I saw the end of something on TV that gave me the chills.....
I guess people have swallowed wire brush bristles and it gets logged in your stomach. They showed X-Rays of a nasty steel wire in someone's stomach......
I use a wire brush every time I grill and the thought of a nasty wire in my tiny sleeve gave me the shivers!!!
I think I'm going to switch to an abrasive pad and wipe it down with a cloth before putting food on the grill !!!

You're supposed to clean grills? I thought that was where the flavor came from.

My son grills a lot and uses a silicon brush. The brush works great, and if you should happen to swallow a bit of it (not aware if that ever happens), it's chemically inert and will pass through you easily. Just sayin' is all.

I've done that to prep the grill for delicate things like fish but never thought about cleaning with olive oil???
Might have to start doing a quick clean with oil right after food comes off instead of letting it get burned and crusty.
