IUD Question for the females

I've had one in That needs replacing - desperately. I've loved it! The first couple of weird months way back when was worth it. It's reached the end of its life and with the wls I've had a period every 2-3 weeks since jan. I can't wait for my new one and to sort out this hormonal crap!!

I had a Mirena for 12 years before surgery and didn't have a day of trouble with it. No periods too which was awesome. After surgery I literally thought I was bleeding from my bladder coz it didn't even occur to me that I was having a period. I started to get periods after surgery, had the Mirena replaced and now almost 3 years post op it seems to have stabilized and I may get a little spotting now and then but no periods. I love the Mirena!
