I've just been submitted for insurance approval, so I'm getting mentally and physically prepared for surgery.  I just printed out this post for days when I need that extra boost.....I'm a carbaholic as well.

Thanks for sharing your experience

Thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom Tracy!  I'm coming up on 4 years, and what you wrote still rings true!  I like #6.  I too work in social services, and when I am clear, I too recognize how truly lucky I am in the life I have and have had.  Sometimes it's difficult to see this, especially when I've gotten caught up in life's dramas and compounded that by using my drug of food.  More often then not now, I truly realize that "but for the grace of God go I" and count my blessings.

Thank you for sharing Tracy!!! I'm almost to goal and I'm nervous about maintenance Just recently I've allowed myself chips here and there and I had icecream last night. I can see I need to be careful. I don't want to fall into old habits. I guess I kind of fell off the wagon. Just because I can tolerate eating these foods now doesn't mean I should.  Post like yours helps me to keep things in perspective.
