Surgery 5/19

Hi, I am new here and I have my Sleeve surgery scheduled for Tuesday (5/19). I am nervous & excited all at the same time. Any recommendations or words of wisdom to share? I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am and I believe my surgery is at 8:30am. I'm glad I'm the second patient of the day so I don't have to wait filled with anxiety. My biggest fears are the pain after the surgery and how I'm going to feel. Luckily my doctor has been proactive to help me combat nausea in advance from surgery and the pain meds. He gave me a patch to wear the day before surgery and during surgery. Send well wishes, positive thoughts and prayers for me!

Try not to worry. Most people don't experience too much pain and there are mess for that if you do. You won't need much for your hospital stay but bring a pillow for the ride home. Best of luck!

You'll do just fine, especially with the medications your doctor has prescribed.  He may prescribe more patches after surgery to combat nausea (same patches that are used for seasickness) or something else.  I was not bothered by any nausea or pain after surgery and I hope you will experience the same result.

I had some gas pain after surgery and recommend GasX thin strips.  2 or 3 alleviated the pain and really helped!

Hope your surgery went well! Mine did! I just got home from the hospital 2 hours ago. How's your pain? I'm pretty much just taking Tylenol for any discomfort. 

Went very well! I went home Wednesday as well. Still on Norco for pain. Mostly it's ok, but the spot where they pulled out the stomach is still pretty sore inside. I walked 7,000 steps yesterday! But I'm tired today. It'll be an on and off thing for awhile yet, I suspect.
