I will be posting a much more detailed update next week but wanted to share a quick update for those wondering about the longterm success of VSG. As a newbie, I would love to have heard from those many years out as to their success with this surgery. I've had great success! Diligence is key! I started out at 245. I lost to 20 pounds below goal and intentionally regained 5 lbs as I felt my lowest weight was too low. I monitor my carb intake and exercise almost daily. Here's just a few pics but will post more next week...

 Before...

After...

Lolly Rice's photo.

I cropped my head in the 2nd 'After' pic because it was a photo taken with no makeup or hair done. The first 'After' pic was taken two years ago. The 2nd was taken this evening. I chose pictures that demonstrate that you can maintain a consistent weight over a long period of time.

Wow, you still look amazing! Do you have to work as hard as you thought you would, even now? I mean, I know it's hard work even after the surgery but I'm 10 months post op and find it's not as hard as I thought it would be. The weight came off quite easily. I'm currently a little under goal and eat 'regular' food at meals, just not much of it, and am maintaining easily. I also don't exercise regularly. Should I be prepared to do more in the future?

Totally awesomeness!!! You are definitely a good inspiration for us newbies. I'm beginning to hear alot of post op's having issues with weight gain. What's what your secret? I'm hearing stay with protein first, drink all your water and count your carbs. Thank you for sharing. Christine
