My partner has lost about 60 pounds since I started my lifestyle change, which is incredible to me. It's great what setting a good example can do for those around us sometimes.

I totally agree, and I also think it's the only thing we can do. No amount of cajoling or hectoring on my part has ever made any difference, but just by being strong myself seems to have the most impact. I think these changes are only possible when we decide for ourselves that we're going to make them. And that certainly goes for my partner.
Also, he told me he wanted to avoid a "King of Queens" situation, so I guess that was motivating too...
Congratulations! I think that those of us who have such supportive "others" are really fortunate. My wife has also made a major change, and she's lost 80 lbs.
