I was 57 when I had my surgery and I think age can be a contributing factor for some.  Also I yo yo dieted for 40 years.  My starting weight was 272 and 15 months later I was 135.  I called goal. I did lose something every month.  Sometimes it was 4 pounds and other times 10-12 pounds.  I will add following the same plan.  I think my body let go of weight at its own rate.  As you can see the rate at which you lose is different.  I did not stray from plan during my weight loss period.  Honestly it was easy not to.  The only time in my life that the obsession was lifted.  That felt just as good as the weight coming off.  My advice for what it' worth.  Don't waist the honeymoon period.  It really is a small part of your life long commitment to health, but if you can get that you will be off to a good start.

Took me a while. Closer to 18 months. That is just the weight goal. The real goal is maintenance and not regaining or fighting it off again if it does happen. And that goal is a life long one. The minute you put your 'weapons' down and relax and let complacency or denial in that is the minute that your goals slip away.

Killer stats. You were were of the first posters I saw with a month-by-month breakdown when I joined the forum. Inspired me to do the same. Really helps keep things in perspective. So thanks.

That is why I did it. When I first joined a few folks had the stats in the sig and it really helped me to wrap my brain around the power of the cumulative total and not to get hung up on a weekly or monthly total.
